Hospital experience: 2 years (Preferred)
Administrative experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Direct accountability to the Center Supervisor and indirectly to the Director of Operations.
Required Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Basic PC skills and Basic office skills (fax, copy machine, multi-line telephone). At least 2-3 years clerical occupational medicine experience in a medical office setting. Knowledge of authorization/referral process for Workers Compensation injuries/illnesses. Experience in completing WC documents including First Reports, PR2s, RFAs, and communication directly with employers and insurance adjusters.
Summary of Major Function Processing patient referrals to specialists and obtain authorization from third party payer. Keep patients, providers and employers informed of the status of the referral and specialist information. Assist with scheduling specialist appointments as needed. May perform other duties as assigned.
