Full Job Description
Title: Intermediate-Level Medical Assistant
Argus Medical Management LLC/ProHealth Partners, Inc. is currently looking for experienced, certified medical assistants who are looking to work with established medical offices in Los Alamitos, Ca and grow with the organization. This position would include both front and back medical assistant duties under the direction of the physician/licensed health care provider. Providers will work with specialties that include: Cardiology, Urgent Care, Pediatrics
These duties include:
Front Office
· Welcome patients and schedule appointments through in person contact or telephone.
· Complete full cycle of patient registration which include: collecting documents, verifying patient coverage, communicating fees, and collecting payments.
Back Office
· Direct patients to rooms to obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.
· Take full responsibility for patient and lab charges for the billing department.
· Assist the provider with patient education pertaining to their ongoing health care.
· Performing other duties as assigned
The successful Medical Assistant will have the following essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management
· Ability and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration
· Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and ICD9 coding procedures (CareTracker a plus)
· Knowledge of medical terminology, medications and injection procedures.
The minimum qualifications we are looking for:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Completion of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
· Bilingual in Spanish is required
