Job Title: Medical Assistant ( Mobile Unit)

 


Salary: $21-$27 per hour


Location: Tustin

Openings: 2) Position Available

Reports to: Mobile Operations Manager and Operations Director

 


Position Purpose: 
To assist mobile unit providers with patient care and perform medical assistant duties as needed onboard the mobile units and in the field.


 

Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Perform front office duties; Patient intake including: Patient registration, check in, check out, insurance verification, obtaining consent form signatures, collecting patient surveys, collecting co-pays, processing sliding fee-scale applications, processing CHDP applications. Verifies, collects, and logs patient demographics, medical history, allergies, medication usage, and chief compliant into the electronic health record system.
  • Perform quality vital collection and entering the values in the EHR system,
  • Perform “back office” or clinical duties such as: Blood draws, immunizations, injections, wound care procedures, urine test, blood glucose test, A1C test, Cholesterol test, Flu swabs, strep test swabs and EKG.
  • Provide quality customer service in the process to all patients.
  • Review patients’ chief complaint and prepares a medical chart for medical providers to use during a visit.
  • Order on-site testing, labs, immunizations, referrals, authorizations, and procedures per provider’s order.
  • Secure patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records and other patient information according privacy policies and HIPAA standards.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Follow standards and procedures outlined in the employee manual.
  • Keep inventory of all supplies onboard the unit and re-stock the units as needed.
  • Keep equipment operational by following instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns and informing the manager about any issues with the onboard equipment and assist in repairs.
  • Maintain impeccable attendance and follow employee guidelines fully.
  • Report to off site location for work as needed. (Be available to travel for work)
  • Be available to work weekends and/or extended hours in order to complete duties as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Training:

    • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program.
    • CPR Certification
    • Phlebotomy Certification preferred

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Must be able to work well with other mobile team members.
  • Must be comfortable to provide quality, compassionate care to all patients regardless of their background or their social/housing condition.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including persons with a history of trauma, those experiencing socioeconomic stress, homelessness, or substance use disorders (Preferred)
