Full Job Description

Our well established Pediatric Cardiology practice is seeking a positive, hard working team member to join us as a Medical Assistant & Receptionist.

This position under general supervision, operates as part of the care team performing a variety of functions.

Front Office duties may include, but are not limited to: Check In/Check Out patients, answering phones, properly triage phone calls, accurate message taking, scheduling appointments for multiple physicians and locations, preparation of patient charts, processing Medical Record requests, confidence collecting over the counter patient payments, verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining insurance authorizations.

Back Office duties include, but are not limited to: Coordinating Back Office flow, manual blood pressure checks, height/weight of patients, rooming patients, EKG, assisting Physicians with Treadmill Tests, performing Pulmonary Function Tests, applying Holter & Event Monitors and medication requests.

To be considered for this position, we are looking for someone who can meet the following requirements:

  • Ability to work in both Newport Beach and Mission Viejo locations.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • Minimum of one year experience within a medical office.
  • Able to think on your feet and perform in a controlled manner under pressure.
  • Dynamic, organized and self-motivated.
  • Have the ability to adapt to change and accept new challenges.
  • Be a positive influence on a team. No negativity, no gossip.
  • Provides front desk support and customer service satisfaction to patients in a courteous and professional manner in accordance with performance standards.
  • Answer multi-line telephones promptly and in a polite and professional manner.
  • Able to use general office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax and email.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when entering data and taking messages.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful.
  • Experience in Pediatrics or Cardiology helpful.
