Seeking a Medical Assistant (Front & Back Office): Will support doctors and help patients by providing information, services, and assistance. Medical Assistants are responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient patient care in the medical office. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Schedule patient appointments and surgery

· greet patients and escort to examination room

· Ability to apply and remove casts and splints (Will train)

· Autoclaving and cleaning instruments

· Maintains inventory, places supply orders and verifies receipt for assigned provider

· Check patients in and out- verifies information and takes Chief Complaint (CC) History of Present Illness (HPI) Medications (current list and new prescriptions) Assist physician with office procedures Administer Injections as prescribed by Physician Provide cast and custom molds for specialty braces

· Patient refill Medications

· Insurance Eligibility/Verification

· Encourage patients to complete online patient satisfaction and identify areas of improvement

· Complete physician paperwork as required (i.e., letters, time off work, etc)

· Set-up trays for office procedures Clean-up and prepare room after each patient Ensure universal precautions including bio-hazardous disposal

· Maintain confidentiality regarding patient (employee) information.

· Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of cooperation.

· Promotes good public relations with the patient’s family and visitors.

· Coordinate specialty and procedure referrals as needed

· Awareness of utilization of supplies and equipment.

· Accomplish assigned projects on time.

· Keeps work area organized to improve efficiency.

· Scans documents, answer emails in a timely fashion

· Maintain and order office supplies or medical supplies

· Performs other duties as necessary or assigned, as required for efficient operations of the Clinic directed by the Administrator or Providers.

· Follow up on dictated reports for medical records

· Assist in CPT codes & ICD10 coding -

· Exhibit a willingness to participate in a positive work environment

· Daily operation of clinic

· Review charts, lab test results, and encounter forms for completeness and to assess follow-up as needed

· Assist with clinic scheduling problem solving, patient wait times, and other areas of concern to increase efficient and quality services.

· Back office assistance – as needed and under direction of a Provider or Administration

· Responsible for:

A. Protecting the clinics hardware, software, information, and data by complying with its security/privacy policies and procedures and correctly using security technologies.

B. Using computer terminals and workstations in a manner that protects the security of information they access.

C. Reporting all security/privacy breaches to their Administrators.

E. Maintaining the confidentiality of their password.

REQUIRED:

· Demonstrate good inter-personal relations.

· Knowledge of medical terminology, formal, or on the job experience.

· Comfortable using e-mail and interacting with Internet applications

· Experience with an EMR

· Knowledge of word processing software

· Knowledge of medical terminology and Current Procedure Terminology (CPT) and ICD-10 codes

· Working knowledge of managed care basics

· Knowledge of anatomy

· Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor

· Good communication skills

· Neat, professional appearance

· Excellent customer service skills

· Bilingual in Spanish.

· Team work and Dependable

· Strong verbal and written skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
