We are growing and we are seeking an WC Medical Biller to join our team.

About Us:
Military Medical Supplies, an approved TRICARE provider, and CompPlus Ancillary, specializing in durable medical equipment (DME) for workers’ compensation claims, are leaders in the healthcare industry.

Job Overview:
The WC Medical Biller is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, coding, and submission of claims related to workers' compensation cases. They work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and employers to ensure the proper processing of claims related to workplace injuries or illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Claim Submission:

  • Accurately prepare and submit workers' compensation claims to insurance companies.
  • Ensure claims are compliant with state-specific workers' compensation laws and regulations.

Billing and Coding:

  • Use appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS) to ensure correct billing.
  • Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines and changes specific to workers' compensation.

Payment Tracking and Follow-up:

  • aim submissions and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers and adjusters to resolve issues and ensure timely payment.

Patient and Provider Communication:

  • Serve as a liaison between healthcare providers, insurance carriers, employers, and patients.
  • Address questions or concerns regarding billing, claim status, or payment processing.

Records Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical treatment plans and billing information related to workers' compensation cases.
  • Ensure proper documentation of injury dates, treatment plans, and employer information.

Claims Appeals:

  • Review and appeal denied or underpaid workers' compensation claims as necessary.
  • Provide supporting documentation for appeals and resubmit claims.

Compliance:

  • Stay informed on state workers' compensation regulations, billing rules, and procedural guidelines.
  • Ensure that all billing processes comply with HIPAA and workers' compensation policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Medical Billing: Familiarity with workers' compensation claims is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Coding: Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy in billing, coding, and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with insurance companies, medical professionals, and patients.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of resolving discrepancies in billing, claims denials, and insurance communications.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in medical billing software, electronic health records (EHR), and other relevant systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of state-specific workers' compensation regulations and compliance requirements.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may prefer an associate's degree in a relevant field).
  • Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)) is often preferred.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation regulations is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
