MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and reliable medical assistant to perform both front and back office tasks. The ability to communicate effectively, to provide excellent customer service, and to multitask is essential for this position.

Essential Functions:

• Be punctual and dependable
• Treat patients with respect
• Answer phones and schedule patient appointments
• Obtain pre-authorizations for office visits & procedures
• Verify insurance and check eligibility status
• Collect over-the-counter payments
• Review patient charts and obtain pertinent medical history
• Train to operate medical equipment
• Prepare back office supplies, sterilize instruments and assist with office procedures.

Skills (required):

• Positive attitude and values teamwork
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; detail-oriented
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, and Medicare health plans
• EHR Experience
• At least two (2) years of medical office experience
• Proof of vaccination & booster are REQUIRED to start employment.

Preferred:

• A Certified Medical Assistant Certification
• Bilingual

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
