Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing support to healthcare professionals, and delivering excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, office procedures, and patient management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of patients for examinations and procedures, including basic life support measures when necessary.
  • Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers and document accordingly.
  • Perform basic coding for insurance claims and manage billing processes.
  • Collaborate with medical staff in urgent care situations, ensuring timely responses to patient needs.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments, including vital signs and health history documentation.
  • Support various medical procedures such as X-Ray preparations and understanding of physiology knowledge relevant to patient care.
  • Assist in managing office supplies and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Skills

  • Proficient in medical coding systems and terminology.
  • Knowledgeable in geriatrics and emergency medicine practices.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols and urgent care procedures.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic life support certification is preferred but not required upon hiring; training may be provided.
  • Understanding of inhalation therapies and related medical equipment is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
