Perform tasks and responsibilities within the framework of medical information gathering promotes patient flow in both the clinical and clerical areas to provide care appropriate to the patient’s age, health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive care under the direction of a registered professional nurse or licensed physician

Responsibilities:

This position may Elapse between the Medical Assistant and Receptionist job responsibilities, Under the general supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse:

  • provides back office support for physicians and clerical staff.
  • Chart patient’s chief complaint, may assist with obstetrical history, and take vital signs.
  • Follow physician orders and give the patient their discharge instructions.
  • Complete order in EMR and submit to Superbill including any other charges.
  • Follow route slips for physicals and complete the necessary portions of forms.
  • Complete the patient registration process and update as required.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

medical record functions:

  • scanning correspondence, and prescription refills as well as taking messages, Attending calls, check-in, and check-out process, maintaining proper documentation of all paperwork, verify insurance eligibility using eligibility list, Medi-Cal POS and insurance representatives.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to perform spirometry, EKG, use centrifuge, microscope, pulse oximeter

Shechedule:

  • Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm

Pay Rate:

  • 21 h/r

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 5x8
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overnight shift

Experience:

  • Medical assistant: 1 year (Required)
  • Urgent care: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
  • CPR/BLS certification (Preferred)
