Job description:
We are a growing Internal Medicine Group looking for an experienced medical scribe (6-12 months of scribing experience) to scribe for our providers at post-acute hospitals/skilled nursing facilities. Your role would be to provide high-quality patient care while performing a variety of tasks that include but are not limited to; review and reporting of patient medical records, pre-charting, patient intake, and real-time scribing to assist care providers in the examination and treatment of patients.
We are a teaching medical group so that you can advance your career in the medical field and prepare for further advancement to mid-level providers or higher. Experience, with PCC or Cerner EMR is preferred.
The schedule does vary depending on the providers you are paired with
Major Position Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with patients of all ages with diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds while always maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs real-time scribing with providers to ensure proper documentation of the visit.
  • Collects patient history and performs pre-charting to review with a physician.
  • Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and follows company standards and policies.
  • Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in electronic health records in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to all medical practice policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
  • Performs other duties as necessary including assisting with medical billing.
  • Safety and Infection Control Responsibilities.
  • Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including unit based specific safety and infection control requirements.

 
Qualifications:
  • ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, & EXPERIENCE.
  • 6 months experience as a medical scribe is REQUIRED. 1 year of experience is PREFERRED.
  • Ability to relate and work with people of all authority levels, ages, social and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer technology, including word processing, spreadsheet, and databases, required.
  • Must have dependable transportation.
  • Must work weekends.
