Hourly Rate:
Day / Swing: $20.00 - $25.00 (starting rate depends on experience)
Overnight: $24.00 - $29.00 (starting rate depends on experience)

Summary
Mental Health Support specialist/BHT is responsible for developing and maintaining a therapeutic environment with clients by providing supportive services to individuals experiencing mental health symptoms. Daily tasks include but are not limited to overseeing daily chores, coordinating and transporting clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring the clients arrive on time to all scheduled activities, monitoring and documenting client self-administration medications, facilitating therapeutic and life skills activities, identifying clients who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, random drug screening of clients, observe and report positive as well as any negative behavior in daily shift logs. Specialist must be able to motivate the clients, willing to be active in the day to day needs and duties of clients and technology proficient.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates and transports clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring the clients arrive on time to all scheduled activities, and ensures client safety.
  • Utilizes intervention and communication skills in working with clients.
  • Monitor and document client self-administration medications while coaching clients in self-management and documenting medications in accordance with the organization’s policy on medication use. Report any deficiencies
  • Facilitating therapeutic and life skills base activities
  • Provide healthcare services in clients residences
  • Perform domestic and household tasks
  • Assist with client's personal care activities
  • Monitor clients and report their condition
  • Collect routine specimens (UAs)
  • Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support
  • Adherence to JACHO and state client standards
  • Daily walk-throughs of facility establishing a consistent presence and awareness of client behavior
  • Encouraging socially acceptable habits and behaviors (personal hygiene, grooming, table manners, etc.)
  • Enforcing policies and procedures
