THE POSITION

The Mental Health Therapist I/Clinician provides individual, group and/or family therapy to clients and/or families. Provides clinical assessment, field-based and outreach services to clients and their families; case management and advocacy services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts family-centered, strengths-based, culturally competent individualized intakes / assessments gathering information from family, consumer, significant other and involved agencies in the office or in the field as appropriate.
  • Includes healthcare, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, employment or housing, as appropriate, in treatment plans.
  • Completes Service and Coordination Plans, progress notes, and other DMH required documentation.
  • Provides rehabilitative services to clients and/or their families.
  • Provides outreach, advocacy, and rehabilitative services needed for ongoing cases and in crisis intervention.
  • Provides case management, which might include obtaining client information, identifying needs and problems, linking clients and their families to appropriate resources.
  • Provides services in the community or in the field consistent with program and funding source contractual requirements.
  • Works with the treatment team to provide appropriate coordinated care services to clients and their families.
  • Completes billing expectations per Agency requirements and provides services consistent with program needs.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Holds a degree as an MSW, MFT, PCC, Psy.D or PhD
  • Registered with the CA BBS or Board of Psychology an AMFT, APCC, ASW or DMH Waiver, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or Psychologist (or 60 days to receive registration number).
  • Must be able to work in a variety of settings which include; outpatient, field-based, and school-based.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to relate to a culturally diverse clientele and staff.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Record.
  • correspondence/notes using correct format and grammar.
  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), background clearance.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability policy.

We comply with Assembly Bill AB1933, candidates are required to show proof of full vaccination (including Booster) to begin work. Candidates who are partially vaccinated, cannot begin work until they are fully vaccinated and waited fourteen days post second vaccine. Requests for Medical and Religious exemptions may be submitted post offer for consideration.
Unvaccinated May Not begin work until:
  • Received one Johnson & Johnson or two Pfizer or Moderna and waited 14 days past the last vaccine.
  • Pfizer second dose – taken after 21 days = can start after 35 days from 1st dose
  • Moderna second dose – taken after 28 days after first dose = can start work after 42 days from 1st dose
