Job Summary
We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Medical Assistant (MA) with strong administrative capabilities to join our team. This role combines clinical support for the doctor with administrative assistance, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient office operations. This individual will primarily take patient vitals, assist the doctor during consultations, and contribute to maintaining accurate records and tracking reports.

Duties

  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification or equivalent training
  • Experience with taking patient vitals and basic clinical tasks
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation, Med Legal billing or a willingness to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of assisting in medical consultation.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and collection processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook, Teams.
  • Ability to track supplemental reports and maintain accurate records.
  • 2-3 years in a medical office setting, ideally in workers compensation or specialty clinics.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems Prognocis.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment with multi tasking requirements.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive and self motivated with minimal supervision needed.
  • Team player who follows procedures and works collaboratively.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Willingness to handle administrative tasks like mail tracking, patient records, and scheduling.
  • Take vitals for patients and assist the doctor during consultations.
  • Manage and handle supplemental reports that they are submitted/uploaded in a timely manner.
  • Assist with preparing and processing supplemental reports, records requests, and Rx refills.
  • Maintain tracking sheets and contribute to meeting office KPI's.
  • Support collections and billing processes when needed

Responsibilities

  • Take and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, height, and weight.
  • Assist the doctor during consultations, ensuring the patient comfort and efficient work flows.
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies.

Administrative support

  • Handle incoming mail and ensure requests (records, supplemental reports, rx requests, subpoenas) are logged and tracked promptly.
  • Assist with preparing supplemental reports and verifying billing details for accuracy.
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient and report data in tracking sheets and electronic systems.
  • Support Rx refill requests and subpoena processing as needed.

Compliance and Collaboration

  • Ensure compliance with all office policies and medical regulations
  • Communicate effectively with the office team to ensure accurate documentation and task completion.
  • Follow established procedures for records management and task tracking.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
