Job Overview

This is a union position.

The On Call SUD Counselor will provide program supervision as needed and scheduled by Program Supervisor. Shifts will vary depending on program needs. Shifts may be scheduled ahead of time to cover planned vacations or requested randomly to cover other staff members who are required to call out unexpectedly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises mother and child or program activity as needed and dependent upon the assigned shift.
  • May oversee mothers' work related to independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, meal planning, shopping, etc.)
  • May monitor parent child interactions to ensure safety and well being of children.
  • May assist with transportation, shopping or community outings.
  • May be involved with documenting client records.
  • Responsible to contact Manager on Call if consultation related to program issues is needed during night and weekend shifts.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Requirements:
  • Current California SUD Intern Registration.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Basic understanding of child development, child abuse, substance abuse and self sufficiency issues.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable for one of the positions.
  • California Driver's License with proof of insurance.
