As a key member of our pharmacy operations, you will play a vital role in accurately entering and processing prescription orders, contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter prescription orders into the pharmacy system, ensuring all necessary information is captured, including patient details, medication names, dosages, and instructions.
  • Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of prescription orders, making necessary corrections or seeking clarification from prescribers when required.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to prescription orders.
  • Maintain strict adherence to pharmacy policies and procedures, including privacy and confidentiality regulations, to safeguard patient information.
  • Verify insurance coverage and process prior authorizations, if applicable, to ensure timely fulfillment of prescription orders.
  • Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding prescription-related inquiries or concerns, providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist in managing medication inventory and stock levels, ensuring proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products.
  • Perform routine data entry and administrative tasks to support the overall pharmacy operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification or training in pharmacy technology is a plus).
  • Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, specifically in order entry or pharmacy technician roles, is highly desirable.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with pharmacy management systems and data entry software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, with the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, prescription processing, and insurance billing procedures.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines related to pharmacy practice, such as HIPAA.
  • Ability to adapt to changing workflows and priorities, while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.
