Full Job Description

Overnight Mental Health Counselor - Residential Services
Program/Location: Turning Point Crisis Center (Oceanside)

Hours: M-F, 12am - 8am Differential pay available for weekend and overnight shifts!

COMMUNITY RESEARCH FOUNDATION (CRF) inspires and mentors the next generation of mental health professionals!

Short-Term Acute Residential Treatment (START) Program

Our Crisis Centers provide intensive, community-based residential services for adults throughout San Diego County, 24 hours/7 days a week. We deliver a unique alternative to psychiatric hospitalization to clients who are experiencing a significant psychiatric crisis that is not manageable on an outpatient basis. We provide services in a home-like environment that specializes in the bio-psychosocial rehabilitation of each individual, focusing on stabilization and recovery.

Our multi-disciplinary team addresses each aspect of a client’s unique situation, including mental health, co-occurring substance abuse, housing, medical/medication needs, and establishing connections to social service supports within the community to facilitate successful transition beyond the START program.

Clinical Supervision for your licensure hours may be available!

Position Overview:

Here's what one of our staff said about the overnight shift:

"What I have always enjoyed about the overnight shifts is the slower pace, more opportunities to work on assessment/diagnosis and clinical documentation, and the chance to be more involved in administrative aspects of the program as well. The overnight staff really set the pace for the whole day, helping the morning shift start things out organized and helping our residents begin the day by interacting with a caring person. Instead of the hustle and bustle of a day shift with constant interruptions and trying to beat the clock, you have the chance to really learn and master details with no rush to finish in a crowded space."
