Job Description

Apex Pharmacy is seeking a pharmacy technician to join our team at our Baldwin Park, CA location. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and other staff members.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, or related field required.
• Current active state pharmacy technician license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy or medical office preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other staff members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multi-task and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of drug dosage calculations, lab procedures, and patient charting required.
• Knowledge of drug storage procedures and techniques preferred.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include:

• Answering phones, taking messages, processing payments, and making prescriptions.
• Opening and closing the pharmacy.
• Greeting patients upon entry into the pharmacy.
• Checking prescription ingredients for accuracy prior to dispensing.
• Verifying patient addresses on patient charts prior to completing prescriptions.
• Processing returns, refunds, and exchanges for products and services purchased from the pharmacy.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
