RESPONSIBILITES/ACCOUNTABILIES:

  • Adhere to all pertinent local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Process and Fill all prescriptions as directed.
  • Assist to prepare delivery and mail out for daily basis as directed.
  • Ensure, in coordination with Purchasing Assistant, that the inventory stock levels of drug items are appropriately maintained.
  • Check for overages, shortages, damaged materials and reports discrepancies to supervisor, Purchasing Assistant, or appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure proper dispensation of returned medication items; ensure proper reversal of credit claims. Process returns for Narcotics prescriptions, return to inventory or discard as instructed by Pharmacy Management.
  • Perform Technician assignments for the day or by special assignment as requested by Pharmacy Management.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the specific pharmacy functions hired to work in.
  • Courteously assist all customers, with proper phone etiquette.
  • SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
  • High school Diploma, or equivalent
  • One (1) year previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • Prime RX software experience Technician preferred
  • State issue Pharmacy Technician License
  • Skills in usage of fax machine, computer software, copier, and word processing
  • Knowledge of and experience with controlled drug dispensing procedures
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws for controlled drug prescriptions
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues, facility staff members, and others within the organization

  • Ability to maintain composure on phone when handling customer calls.
  • Basic math skills, and analytical skills.
  • Possess and obtains knowledge of Drug Names, Generic and Trade. Ability to recognize subtle difference in names and number.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
