Adhere to all pertinent local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations
Process and Fill all prescriptions as directed.
Assist to prepare delivery and mail out for daily basis as directed.
Ensure, in coordination with Purchasing Assistant, that the inventory stock levels of drug items are appropriately maintained.
Check for overages, shortages, damaged materials and reports discrepancies to supervisor, Purchasing Assistant, or appropriate personnel.
Ensure proper dispensation of returned medication items; ensure proper reversal of credit claims. Process returns for Narcotics prescriptions, return to inventory or discard as instructed by Pharmacy Management.
Perform Technician assignments for the day or by special assignment as requested by Pharmacy Management.
Maintain a working knowledge of the specific pharmacy functions hired to work in.
Courteously assist all customers, with proper phone etiquette.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
High school Diploma, or equivalent
One (1) year previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
Prime RX software experience Technician preferred
State issue Pharmacy Technician License
Skills in usage of fax machine, computer software, copier, and word processing
Knowledge of and experience with controlled drug dispensing procedures
Knowledge of state and federal laws for controlled drug prescriptions
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues, facility staff members, and others within the organization
