Responsible for the preparation and distribution of medications under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with department procedures.
Training as per State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
Must have knowledge of trade/generic drug names and aseptic technique for the preparation of all types of IVs. Must be able to perform mathematical calculations and have sufficient typing skills for computer order entry. Needs general understanding of pharmacy computer applications and be able to use common reference material. Proficiency in English (verbal and written skills) in order to communicate effectively. Acute care or ambulatory infusion experience required. One year of oncology experience preferred including hazardous drug sterile compounding experience. Able to withstand stress of high activity areas. Excellent customer service skills.
Pharmacy Technician License is required. BLS or ACLS required (ICH/QVH only). Annual 2 hours of stroke education required for those working at QVH.
