Description: Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory terminology required. Two year acute care hospital laboratory experience preferred. One to two (1-2) years of experience assisting in performing laboratory assays preferred. Ability to operate computer input terminal. Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques including special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks. Communication skills including fluent in English. Typing and word processing skills required. Excellent customer service skills required.
Works under the supervision of the Director Laboratory Services/Asst. Director/and or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collections on infants. Participates in data entry, specimen processing and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
