Job Summary

Shift: Monday-Friday 2pm - 10pm

Locations: PIH Health Good Samaritan, PIH Health Whittier, PIH Health Downey

The Health Information Management Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of medical records within a healthcare facility. This position is responsible for organizing, managing, and safeguarding patient information while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards with a focus on processing hospital audits. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding or a willingness to learn medical terminology and systems, contributing to the efficient operation of the medical office.

Duties

  • Accurately enter and update patient information in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Organize and maintain medical records, ensuring they are complete and compliant with regulations.
  • Retrieve and prepare medical records for healthcare providers as needed.
  • Assist in the auditing of medical records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Respond to requests for information from authorized personnel while adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure proper documentation practices.
  • Stay current with changes in health information management practices and regulations.

Requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Previous customer service skills in person and over the phone
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
