JOB SUMMARY
The Residential Assistant is responsible for the maintenance of a safe, residential recovery environment and providing support services to clients and clinical treatment staff. Residential Assistant assisting with providing oversight in monitoring of medication safety. Observes, monitors, and manages clients prescribed, self-administered medication regimes per Family Recovery Center scope of license.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain security procedures for the facility including searches of belongings and persons.
observation and documentation for detoxification clients including their status and location.
Support the treatment plan of individual clients as provided by treatment team.
Collect periodic and random urinalysis samples from clients.
Oversee residents’ rooms; Conduct room searches and ensure room standards are kept.
Facilitate the flow of daily scheduled activities including meals, treatment, recreational activities, visitation, volunteer activities, etc.
Provide support and crisis intervention to residential clients when primary counselor is unavailable.
Maintain client file documentation as required by evaluation and contractual requirements.
Always interact with residents in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
Monitor compliance with self-administered medication protocol.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Registered with an AOD certifying Board (e.g. – CCAPP, CAADE)
Ability to maintain annual AOD registration.
Per program contact requirements, must satisfactorily complete a Tuberculosis test prior to hire and once annually thereafter.
CPR/First Aid certification, required.
Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and mediation
Certified or registered through a recognized alcohol and drug certification entity or licensed vocational nurse.
Experience with and proficient at using good interactive skills with others.
Bilingual in English and Spanish if the position serves Spanish speaking population.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software
Ability to problem solve and react appropriately to emergency situations
Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team
Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and solve problems in a timely manner
Must be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, with employees, management, and co-workers
Highly organized, thorough, and able to self-monitor work for quality
Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
