Full Job Description

Summary:

This position counsels individuals with substance abuse issues and related problems, in a residential setting. This position may carry a caseload and serves as a liaison for Residential Services Coordinator. This position may also train/assist other counseling staff. Reports to Residential Services Coordinator.

Qualifications:

Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor with three years of experience in a treatment setting. Associates Degree or higher, or currently enrolled in college or university. Computer proficiency. Proof of Automobile Insurance and maintain current CPR and First Aid Certificates. Must pass background check.

Duties:

  • Assist Residential Services Coordinator with program supervision, including being “on call” one week per month to receive off hour calls from program staff. .
  • Provide coaching to program counselors in the implementation of curricula and program services.
  • Supervise program counselor’s activities and monitor treatment plan development.
  • Provide client supervision at all times.
  • Assure secure storage of treatment records.
  • Assure program activities are conducted as scheduled.
  • Perform Quality Assurance Reviews on client files to assure completion and accuracy of charting.
  • Supervise accurate data collection, compilation and record keeping.
  • Assist Residential Services Coordinator in writing reports.
  • Provide various training to program staff.
  • Conduct urinalysis testing when necessary.
  • All other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by management

· Adhere to policies and procedures set forth for agency.

· Adhere to all safety and housekeeping standards established by IVRS.

· Must have knowledge of federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and standards governing all services provided by IVRS.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, calculators and fax machines.
  • Must be able to prepare correspondence.
  • Must be able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
  • Must be able to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
