Job Description

Substance Use Disorder Counselor is responsible for working with the patients on their caseload to complete assessments, treatment plans, counseling, education, case management, and support to patients.

Duties:

• Facilitates evidence-based group counseling and/or patient education.
• Conduct Intakes, Discharge Planning, Initial Needs Assessments and Treatment Plans.
• Provide evidence-based treatment services.
• Orient new patients to the program's rules, policies, procedures, and patient's rights.
• Provide case management services, including referrals to community resources, mental health, and medical services.

Skills & Abilities

• Familiar with the evaluation of patients, treatment planning, and counseling services.
• Effective verbal and listening skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Must be Certified
• Weekend/Night availability is required
• Proficient in Motivational Interviewing

Qualifications

Alcohol & Drug Counselor certification

At least 2 years or equivalent clinical experience or training is necessary to provide counseling services to our patient population.

• Maintain compliance with the requirements for continuing education hours and/or units (CEH or CEU) as determined by the certification/licensing board.
• ASAM and SAGE knowledge
