General Description

Counselors are responsible for but not limited to:

A) Conducting scheduled or drop-in intakes, final program interviews, and completions.

B) Verifying and scheduling all appointments.

D) Monitor random drug/alcohol screening (urinalysis)

E) Support the front reception desk (as needed)

F) Facilitate DUI educational groups and individual sessions

Specific Task:

  • Conducts intake interviews for clients seeking DUI services, including gathering relevant information about clients' history, mental health background, and current concerns.
  • Thoroughly explains contract, confidentiality, schedule, etc.
  • Documents evaluation of interview, indicating motivation, insight, and the extent of a problem if it exists.
  • Review services contract making sure all appropriate signatures are on contracts and confidentiality statements.
  • File and pull client folders, file documents/contracts in folders
  • Provide the participant with a copy of the signed contract.
  • Call missed appointment to reschedule if necessary.
  • Call appointments to verify with clients if they will be attending or if cancellation reschedule if necessary.

Note: If an appointment is canceled or does not show, the counselor will assume the next available appointment.
