Busy Spine Surgery Practice located in the heart of the Inland Empire is seeking an experienced spine surgery biller and collector to join our group. As a Surgery Biller and Collector, you will be a vital part of the healthcare revenue cycle, utilizing core skills in medical collection, EMR and EHR systems, and medical coding to ensure accurate billing and timely payments. Your premium skills in CPT, and ICD coding will be essential in navigating complex billing processes and maximizing reimbursement. Strong communication and organizational skills will be key in interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. With experience in medical office operations and a focus on accuracy and efficiency, you will contribute to the financial health of the practice while upholding compliance with billing regulations.
Job Description:
The qualified candidate will be responsible for accurately coding and submitting professional claims to health plans, medical groups, IPA's for complex spine surgery procedures. Will utilize knowledge of insurance regulations, health insurance contracts, medical coding regulations. Audits procedure documentation to validate that the documentation supports services rendered for reimbursement and reporting purposes. Responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely submission of electronic and/or paper claims, monitoring claims status, researching rejections and denials, documenting related account activities, posting payments, and adjustments received by all payer types.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding, ICD 10, HCPCS, and CPT Code Sets. And medical terminology is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of CMS Regulations, and NCCI Edits is essential.
